Streetlight Manifesto brings The Presence of the Past Tour to Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on September 19, 2026. Led by songwriter and guitarist Tomas Kalnoky, the New Jersey crew has been shaping a brass-forward take on ska-punk since 2002, drawing on Kalnoky’s roots in Catch 22 and the acoustic offshoot Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. Their sound stacks trumpet, trombone and sax over tight guitars and quick, shifting rhythms, with arrangements that privilege collective momentum over sheer volume.
On stage, the band leans into structure and contrast: sprinting verses give way to detailed breakdowns, gang vocals lock in with the horns, and the rhythm section keeps everything moving without excess. The set digs across their catalog—Everything Goes Numb, the reworked Keasbey Nights, Somewhere in the Between, 99 Songs of Revolution: Vol. 1 and The Hands That Thieve—pulling out melodies built for shout-along choruses and parts that hit harder in a live room. A focused run through two decades of songs, played by a unit that treats ska, punk and alt-rock as a single language.
