Busty and the Bass

On 8 July 2026 at the Cirque Royal in Brussels, Busty and the Bass take the stage — the Montreal collective that blends soul, jazz, R&B, funk, hip‑hop and dance tracks. What began as an instrumental outfit at McGill has grown into songs with clear hooks, with the horns driving the rhythm and the groove remaining central. The band works with layered harmonies and leaves room for improvisation without losing the song.

Live they move smoothly between tight riffs, warm synths and alternating singing and rap. The set draws on material from Uncommon Good and Eddie to ET Suite, Karneval and the recent Forever Never Cares, with nods here and there to collaborations with the likes of George Clinton, Terrace Martin and Katie Tupper. Since singer Nick Ferraro left in 2022, the group has broadened vocal roles and opened up the live lineup: multiple voices share the melodies, the horns get more space to play and the arrangements stay flexible.

In recent years Busty and the Bass have logged countless miles across Canada, the US and Europe, from club rooms to festivals. On stage it’s about interplay and timing: grooves build layer by layer, breaks land tight and the whole remains light on its feet. A concert where the energy of the horn section and the collective songwriting set the tone, straight to the dance floor.
