Uriah Heep

Uriah Heep will play at Musis Arnhem on 21 November 2026. Since 1969 the London band has straddled hard rock and prog, with a recognizable mix of heavy riffs, Hammond organ and multi-part vocal harmonies. Around guitarist Mick Box, the linchpin since the start, Uriah Heep built a catalogue that balances melody and power, from Very ’eavy… Very ’umble and Salisbury to Demons and Wizards and The Magician’s Birthday. In the 1980s the emphasis sometimes shifted toward more direct songs, without abandoning the contrasts and choir-like vocals — a line they continue to follow to this day.

On stage the group works with dynamics: compact hooks and more open, developed passages alternate, with the organ prominent in the mix and choir parts carrying the choruses. The later work, such as Chaos & Colour (2023), aligns with that signature without copying the older classics. Uriah Heep come to Arnhem with a set that brings together decades of musical history in a sound that is best realized live: tight, melody-driven and with room for that characteristic build-up of tension between acoustic breathing space and electric surges.
