Info
On Friday 4 September 2026, Once In A Blue Moon arrives at the Zuiderparktheater in The Hague with a line-up that spans the full breadth of folk, Americana and roots: The White Buffalo, The Brothers Comatose and Rose Betts.
The White Buffalo is the project of Jake Smith, a songwriter with a low, grainy voice and stories that travel the road — of guilt and redemption. His songs balance between acoustic folk, dark country and a spare rock edge. He is known for having his music placed in series such as Sons of Anarchy, but above all for compact, narrative songs that take on an even rougher edge in concert.
The Brothers Comatose, formed around brothers Ben and Alex Morrison, deliver a Northern California string‑band sound: guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and upright bass in tight interplay, supported by two‑part harmonies. Their bluegrass is nourished by folk and Americana, with a light rock drive that propels the set without sacrificing acoustic finesse.
Rose Betts comes from London with intimate songs in which pop, folk and a touch of Celtic colour come together. The voice is central, framed by spare melodies and restrained arrangements. Her numbers paint small, sharp scenes and take their time to land — precisely the kind of set that can make an open‑air theatre like this glow.
