Alela Diane

Alela Diane will be at the Big Band Café in Hérouville-Saint-Clair on October 17, 2026. A singer-songwriter from Portland, she has been crafting intimate folk for more than ten years, where voice and guitar take the lead. She comes to present Who’s Keeping Time?, her seventh album, born of a mixture of intuition, coincidence and collective impulse. It features clear songwriting rooted in the American tradition, moving forward without artifice and privileging attentive listening.

From the early tracks on The Pirate’s Gospel and To Be Still to the phases of Alela Diane & Wild Divine, About Farewell, Cusp and Looking Glass, her trajectory alternates between stripped-down formats and tight ensembles, with a taste for arrangements that are just right. On stage, she combines new songs with pieces that have marked her path, for an intimate encounter with the audience, driven by precise guitar work and a poised voice that traces simple, clean lines.
