Black Market Karma

Black Market Karma is a neo-psychedelic band from the United Kingdom. Their sound is dense and colourful, rooted in guitar and 1960s pop, enriched with layers of 1990s psychedelia, saturated tones and languid grooves. They have incorporated elements of folk, blues, lo-fi electronica, hip-hop-influenced rhythms and traditional Indian music.

Originally from London and now based on the south coast of England, the band has eleven albums to its name, all written and entirely self-produced by Stan Belton, the group’s leader and multi-instrumentalist. They are recognised and respected within the contemporary psychedelic rock scene, having toured with The Black Angels and The Warlocks, and collaborated with Sonic Boom (formerly of Spacemen 3), The Telescopes, Tess Parks and The Underground Youth.

Their most recent album, Mellowmaker, was released on Fuzz Club Records, following Wobble (2024) on the same label.

Their earlier catalogue is issued on the British independent label Flower Power Records, with some special editions released by the Australian label Weisskalt.

The band also recently released a retrospective album titled An Introduction to Black Market Karma and their Technicolour Liquid Audio Machine.
