The man with the helmet is back on tour in Europe and his “shit” is—as you might expect—perfect. Generations of young musicians and hundreds of one-man bands tried to sound like him, generations of young women sat on his lap, and even Tom Waits wants to be him. He is the Gran Señor of all one-man bands, a slide guitarist with an irresistible Delta-blues-trash style.

Crunchy, bluesy, sometimes even a little rockabilly with AC/DC- and techno-beat attitudes.

Always impeccably dressed in a tailored, skin-tight suit like the kind worn by human cannonballs in stunt shows. His vocals are always sung through a telephone handset built into his helmet, with a slightly warped undertone, and with the tempo often pushed up, Bob Log III barrels through his songs with bass drum, his archtop guitar, clattering percussion sounds and unmistakable charm. He sounds like a full band with two drummers and three guitarists.

After three albums on Fat Possum Records and a fourth, My Shit Is Perfect, on Voodoo Rhythm Records, plus various singles and DVDs, two new albums were released in April 2016: Guitar Party Power and Bump or Meow (Bloat Records). Since then Bob has been touring the world almost nonstop.

A Bob Log III tour usually means well over 150 shows a year across more than 30 countries. For Bob Log III, who hails from Arizona, USA, and is based in Melbourne, Australia, there are no breaks. He is a personified, unstoppable slide-guitar dance party—lots of sweat, lots of fun, balloons and sometimes even an inflatable boat on stage.
