Lila Ike & Wurl Sound

On 20 April 2026 Lila Iké will perform at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen with Wurl Sound. The Jamaican singer, raised in Christiana and affiliated with Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective, has moved since the late 2010s between reggae roots, soul and R&B. Singles such as "Biggest Fan", "Second Chance" and "Where I’m Coming From" set the tone: personal stories about family, spirituality and everyday life in Jamaica, carried by a flexible voice that shifts between singing and a deejay-like flow.

With The ExPerience (2020) she sharpened her sound: contemporary reggae with lovers rock influences and an urban edge. Live, Lila Iké alternates between intimate acoustic arrangements and a full band setup; the songs remain central, with space for melody, groove and call-and-response. In Groningen that mix comes together in a set that respects the codes of roots while remaining open to the present, without losing sight of its cultural foundations.
