Paul Carrack

On 26 October 2026 Paul Carrack will perform at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The Sheffield-born singer, songwriter and keyboardist has built a career since the 1970s at the intersection of pop-rock and soul. After early steps with the progressive band Warm Dust, he broke through with Ace and the single “How Long.” He later appeared on tour with Roxy Music and joined Squeeze in the early 1980s, where he sang the vocals on “Tempted.” In the mid-1980s he became one of the voices of Mike + The Mechanics, heard on “Silent Running,” “The Living Years” and “Over My Shoulder,” while at the same time developing his solo work with albums such as Suburban Voodoo (1982), One Good Reason (1987), Groove Approved (1989) and Blue Views (1995). In addition to his own work, he has performed extensively with Eric Clapton, Elton John and Ringo Starr. Live, Carrack typically mixes his own songs with material from his band years, leaving room for melodic pop, blue-eyed soul and ballads. His hallmark remains the combination of a warm voice and keyboards, in a set that centers on strong songs and a long British career.
