New York trio Show Me the Body brings its mix of hardcore punk, noise rock and post-hardcore to the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver on Friday, May 22, 2026. Born in the NYC DIY circuit, the band bends the genre’s contours with a distorted banjo at the core, folding riffs, fractured rhythms and spoken-word cadences into tense, physical songs. From early outings Yellow Kidney and the SMTB EP through Body War, the group has toured widely and built Corpus, a collective that yielded the collaborative mixtape Corpus 1. The EP Challenge Coin and the album Dog Whistle deepened the contrasts and urban textures that run through their sound, while Trouble the Water tightened the writing with heavier passages and clipped vocals. On stage, the trio moves between chant-like hooks, jagged grooves and sudden slow drags, driven by a set-up that leaves space for impact. Special guests join the bill.
