Levitation

On 30 May 2026 at the Scène de Bayssan in Béziers, the company Au Delà Du Bleu, led by Jean‑Camille Goimard, presents Lévitation, a creation at the crossroads of aerial dance and circus. Informed by testimony and footage shot in the mountains, the piece draws on wingsuit flyers and the gestures of base jumping to translate onto the stage the sensation of controlled falling and the reading of the wind. Two performers move within a cylindrical structure that evokes a free‑fall simulator, at the heart of a 360‑degree setup where video projections and lighting shape the space and unsettle perception.

Suspended bodies, tensions of breath, micro‑variations in supports and trajectories trace a visual and sonic score that calls on endurance, precision and attentive listening. Without heroization, Lévitation observes what happens when the body seeks weightlessness: the dialogue with the air, unstable equilibria, and attention to flows. Between visual art, movement and the contained sensation of speed, the piece explores a simple, ancient desire—to fly—and questions our relationship to the void as well as the ways in which image and light redefine gesture on stage.
