Celtic Legends

On 9 April 2026 at the Palais des Congrès in Lorient, Celtic Legends offers a journey into the heart of Irish rhythms and dance. On stage, the company stages a tight dialogue between percussive footwork and live music, in a series of tableaux that revisit reels, jigs and ballads without losing what matters most: the pulse and the gesture. Conceived by choreographer Jacintha Sharpe, the group sequences alternate with more finely honed solos, playing on precision, speed and off‑beats. On the musical side, five instrumentalists and singers sustain the whole acoustically under the direction of Sean McCarthy: uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar trace a framework that is at times tense and at times melodic. The staging centers on the beat of the feet and collective listening, with arrangements that let the melodies breathe as much as they highlight the percussive strikes. A format designed for live performance, where dance and sound answer one another in real time.
