Ben Sidran Quartet

Ben Sidran, pianist, singer, composer and producer, born in Chicago and raised in Wisconsin, brings his quartet to the Sunset Sunside in Paris on June 11, 2026. Active since the late 1960s across jazz, rhythm and blues, American song and rock, he has developed a clear musical language: a piano steeped in bop and blues, a flexible sense of groove and a frequently semi-spoken phrasing that anchors his songs between vocal jazz, soul and singer-songwriter craft. From Feel Your Groove to Dylan Different, via Free in America or Blue Camus, his trajectory alternates acoustic formats, electric excursions and reinterpretations of the American repertoire.

On stage in quartet, he unfolds this blend with precision: piano lines that establish the framework, countermelodies and breaks that open the space, and a spoken-sung voice attentive to the rhythm of the words. The repertoire mixes original compositions and rearranged standards, with a clear emphasis on dialogue between the musicians and on tempo variations.
