Funny How?, Christophe Chassol’s fifth album, builds on his Ultrascores while marking a shift toward a more contemporary sound and a more political stance. Inspired by American stand-up, the album blends soul, jazz, rap and musical theatre, setting the voices of figures like Dave Chappelle and Dulcé Sloan in dialogue with those of emerging comedians. Using archives and footage shot in New York and Chicago, Chassol harmonizes reality to reveal its hidden notes and to compose a choral, musical and politically engaged narrative. Funny How? is scheduled for release on 22 May 2026, with a Paris performance at the Folies Bergère on 30 November 2026.
