Info
With Mérou, Lou Trotignon turns their personal story into theatre. They recount their transition with humour, from the first effects of testosterone to periods of striptease, and their entry into queer cultures. The show moves forward through concrete questions rather than slogans: who decides what we are? Can we reinvent our body, our relationship to love, and rewrite our own story without apologizing? Lou mixes narrative, stand-up, and direct address to the audience to share experiences, doubts, and discoveries, bringing a non-binary trajectory to life in the present.
For the June 5, 2026 performance at La Scala in Paris’s 10th arrondissement, Mérou will be presented in an expanded format in collaboration with the Paris LGBTQI Archives Center. Before entering the auditorium, an immersive exhibition brings fragments of memory to the surface: archives, voices, images and traces of struggles that map out a living genealogy. Then comes the stage, preceded by performances from Maison Furieuse’s cabaret artists. It’s a back-and-forth between memory and the stage, where audiences can move freely between collective narratives and Lou’s testimony, to see norms, bodies and the stories we tell ourselves in a different light.
