Hubert Félix Thiéfaine

On 23 October 2026 Hubert‑Félix Thiéfaine will play at Le Forum in Liège. The French singer‑songwriter from Dole (Jura) began in the cabarets of Paris’s Left Bank and released his debut in 1978, Tout corps vivant branché sur le secteur étant appelé à s’émouvoir. His work moves between chanson, folk‑rock, blues and electric rock, featuring self‑penned lyrics full of winding imagery, irony and literary references.

In the early 1980s he moved more decisively toward rock with Dernières balises (avant mutation), Soleil cherche futur, Alambic / Sortie Sud and Météo für nada. In the 1990s he did studio work in New York with Barry Reynolds (Chroniques bluesymentales) and in Los Angeles with Chris Spedding (Fragments d’hébétude), followed by La Tentation du bonheur and Le Bonheur de la tentation. Subsequent releases include Défloration 13, Scandale mélancolique, the duo Amicalement blues with Paul Personne, Suppléments de mensonge, Stratégie de l’inespoir with Lucas Thiéfaine and, more recently, Géographie du vide.

Live, Thiéfaine alternates between large venues and more acoustic settings, as heard during the Unplugged and Replugged tours. At Le Forum expect a set drawn from his extensive catalogue, where poetic lyrics and layered arrangements come together.
