On 10 October 2026 at La Maroquinerie in Paris, Monolord unfurls its trance-forged doom/stoner. Formed in Gothenburg in 2013, the trio brings together Thomas Jäger (guitar/vocals), Esben Willems (drums) and Mika Häkki (bass). Massive riffs, buzzing fuzz, thick bass and clean vocals riding above the wreckage: their signature has become clearer across albums such as Empress Rising and Vænir, followed by Rust, No Comfort and Your Time to Shine. Between repetition, tension and clearly readable melodies, Monolord alternates long, densifying buildups with more direct tracks — a well-honed machinery on stages like Hellfest, Desertfest, Psycho Las Vegas and Roadburn. A new album is announced for 2026, produced by Sylvia Massy and released on Relapse Records.
Opening the bill, Polish band Dopelord serve a psychedelic stoner/doom that mixes heaviness and drifting layers, fuzz-charged riffs and slow grooves aimed at creating a hypnotic state — a way to set the scene before the Swedish trio’s set.
