Pierre-Emmanuel Barré « Come-Back »

Pierre-Emmanuel Barré returns with Come-Back, a show that takes as its raw material what every comedian dreads: becoming obsolete. By positing the year 2031—he’s a has-been—he turns his own career and the workings of showbiz into targets, with the dark tone and bluntness that made him known. How can one still surprise an audience in an era saturated with punchlines, outrages and absurdity? He makes that the core of the show: confessed doubts, self-criticism, a deconstruction of the codes, and raw observations. On stage, text, sound, visual effects and makeshift props intertwine to expose the mechanics of laughter and their limits. Barré places himself at the center not to self-celebrate, but to look at the ruins, recycle the anticipated failure and turn it into clear stage material. Between a satire of the media machine and an attempt at reinvention, Come-Back questions the comedian’s place when everything moves too fast, everything gets recycled, and everything ends up dated.
