Shame arrive at Bilbao’s Kafe Antzokia on 30 June 2026 with a live show that condenses their journey from south London to the venues and festivals where they forged their identity. The five-piece associated with The Windmill in Brixton play a post‑punk of angular guitars, a tense rhythm section and vocals that swing between spoken word and a contained shout. Live they emphasize proximity: sharp cuts, sudden breaks and a pulse like an open rehearsal, focused on friction and the audience’s response.

The setlist looks to their albums Songs of Praise, Drunk Tank Pink and Food for Worms, and includes material from Cutthroat, their most recent album produced by John Congleton. These songs accentuate the band’s rawest, most confrontational side, with electronic touches and a direct approach. The lyrics—dryly humorous and critically observant—poke at subjects like hypocrisy, cowardice, desire and corruption, without solemnity or ornamentation. The single “Cutthroat” sets the tone: taut energy, an arrogance that borders on vulnerability, and a chorus that cuts off abruptly.

On stage, Shame operate as a block: tight group dynamics, rhythmic tension and constant interaction with the front row. A concert centered on the immediacy of gesture and on songs that bite without beating around the bush.
