Info

Black Country, New Road arrive in Santander on Tuesday, 9 June 2026 at Escenario Santander. Born in the orbit of The Windmill in Brixton in 2018, the London group crafts an experimental rock in which post‑rock, post‑punk and art‑rock coexist with echoes of jazz and klezmer, supported by bass, drums, guitars, saxophone, violin and keyboards. After breaking through with the singles “Athens, France” and “Sunglasses,” they consolidated their first phase with For the first time (2021). Isaac Wood’s departure just before Ants From Up There (2022) reshaped the band: vocal duties were shared among the remaining members and the repertoire shifted toward more melodic writing, closer to chamber‑style songs. That transition was captured on Live at Bush Hall (2023).

In concert, the ensemble explores this second life with a collective approach: several singers alternating at the front, detailed arrangements and dynamic changes that move from intimate passages to instrumental crescendos. The show will cover their most recent material alongside revisited pieces from their early albums, with violin and saxophone conversing over a tight rhythm section and ever‑expanding atmospheres. Black Country, New Road propose a continuously moving set, where attentive listening among the musicians sustains a lyrical narrative dense with references.
