Altin Gün en Santiago | SON Estrella Galicia

Info

Altin Gün arrives in Santiago de Compostela on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at Sala Capitol. Founded in Amsterdam in the mid-2010s, the band brings together Dutch and Turkish musicians who reimagine Anatolian folk and rock repertoire from the 1960s and 1970s. On that foundation they build a sound of psychedelic guitars, a funk-driven bass pulse, prominent keyboards and rhythms that verge on disco. Singing in Turkish and the saz or bağlama lines keep the traditional anchor, while the arrangements incorporate electronic textures conceived for live performance.

Their repertoire alternates versions of Anatolian classics with original compositions. In the studio, On (2018) and Gece (2019) put them on the international map—Gece was nominated for a Grammy in the world music category—and later came Yol (2021), Âlem (2021, digital) and Aşk (2023), expanding the role of synthesizers without losing the psych pulse. On stage, the group blends hypnotic riffs, circular grooves and choruses that open Turkish melodic phrasing to a contemporary band dynamic. In Santiago they will present that trajectory—between Anatolian tradition and club spirit, with one foot in Istanbul and the other in Amsterdam.
