Zoufris Maracas

Zoufris Maracas will be stopping by Carré des Docks Le Havre Normandie on October 3, 2026. Born of the friendship between Vin’s and Micho, the project was shaped between a trip to West Africa and the corridors of the Paris metro. Drawing rhythms from Niger and Burkina Faso alongside Latin and Manouche guitars, the band developed a direct songwriting style nourished by life on the road and on stage. Spotted by La Rue Kétanou and later joined by François Causse, Brice and Mike, they refined a nomadic sound that slips from cumbia to rumba while keeping its French roots.

On stage, Zoufris Maracas presents percussive arrangements, brass and choruses that quickly take hold. The lyrics—somewhere between social chronicle and travel diary—call as much for movement as for attentive listening. Since their first album, Prison Dorée, the repertoire has grown to include songs in which the street, travel and celebration are heard, driven by an acoustic, collective energy. It retains that mix of Afro‑Latin rhythms, roaming guitar and songs conceived on a human scale.
