On 10 November 2026, Mogwai will play at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. Since the mid-’90s, the Scottish ensemble led by Stuart Braithwaite has been constructing instrumental landscapes in which silence and saturated layers of guitar alternate. From Mogwai Young Team and Come On Die Young to Rock Action, Mr Beast, Rave Tapes and Every Country’s Sun, their palette has shifted toward minimal melodies, long, drawn-out arcs of tension, controlled feedback and a measured use of electronics and keyboards. This cinematic bent also led to music for the screen, with scores for, among others, Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, Les Revenants and Atomic. Thirty years on from their beginnings, Mogwai plays with the same eye for detail: layered textures, slow builds and sudden eruptions. Live, you can expect a set that spans three decades of material, with new work placed alongside key tracks and recognizable themes from their catalogue.
