Thursday, 26 November 2026 at Ô Totem Live in Rillieux-la-Pape, Imperial Triumphant arrive with their black/death metal nourished by New York imaginaries. Centered around Zachary Ilya Ezrin, the trio weaves atonal harmonies, rhythmic ruptures and jazz detours, even moving into big‑band‑style arrangements. On stage, the band develops this urban, labyrinthine universe, pushing further the writing begun on their previous records. With Goldstar, metallic textures, brass and fractured forms intersect, creating a dense set in which each motif is deconstructed and then recomposed on the fly.
Representing Memphis, Knoll opens the evening with funeral grindcore leaning toward deathgrind and a pronounced noise edge. Dissonant riffs, near‑breakneck accelerations and an upfront rasping vocal: the band works a dark, compact sonic material, honed on Interstice and Metempiric. Live, the set unfolds continuously, without frills, and emphasizes the impact and the sound/visual coherence that characterize the formation. A direct opening act before Imperial Triumphant’s plunge.
