Samira Brahmia - Pink Casbah

On June 12, 2026 at Canal 93 in Bobigny, Samira Brahmia presents Pink Casbah, a live show focused on the universality of Algerian music. Between raï, rock and the Arab-Andalusian heritage, the singer-songwriter moves effortlessly between languages and rhythms, supported by a band made for the stage. She approaches raï with rock energy, refreshes Arab-Andalusian forms with folk guitars, and builds bridges with afrobeat, jazz and contemporary sounds. Her repertoire summons figures who inspire her — from Cheikha Rimitti to Miriam Makeba, and even Thomas Sankara — to tell a musical story rooted on both sides of the Mediterranean.

As an opener, Samira Brahmia pays tribute to the women of raï alongside fifth graders (CM2) and first-year middle-school students (6e) from Bobigny, whom she met during her residency for cultural transmission. This collective reframing carries forward on stage the thread of Pink Casbah: bringing heritage, creativity and the present into dialogue in a direct, no-frills set.
