Jean-Michel Jarre

Jean-Michel Jarre is coming to AFAS Live in Amsterdam on 21 October 2026 with a live set that unfolds his electronic language on stage. Since Oxygène and Équinoxe he has been building a recognizable universe of breathing synth layers, repetitive motifs and tight sequencers; in concert those elements merge with a visual layer that frames the music without overpowering it. Melodies unfurl gradually, rhythms sketch lines toward the dancefloor, and manipulated voices creep through the whole as texture.

From his early, analog-tinged sound worlds to more recent work such as Electronica and Métamorphoses, Jarre forges connections in real time: classic themes return with a contemporary timbre, while new material slips in with multi-layered pulsations and a spatial mix. His years-long exploration of large-scale urban shows, projections and lighting is reflected here in a scenography that gives the electronics room to breathe. A concert that traces the arc of his career—melodic and cinematic—without nostalgia but with a focus on the now.
