Uli Jon Roth

Uli Jon Roth returns to the stage at l’Atabal in Biarritz on 28 May 2026. As the guitarist from the early years of Scorpions (1974–1978), he established a playing style that is at once incisive and melodic and helped define European hard rock. For this date he presents his Virgin Killer 50th Anniversary Tour: the album is performed in its entirety, revisited with a contemporary sound and the freedom of a musician who enjoys taking his arrangements further. Not a greatest-hits set, but rather a journey conceived as a narrative in which each track regains its place and intensity.

The concert opens with “Pictures Of Our Destiny,” a more visionary piece that sets the mood: airy textures, rising tension and room for improvisation. Then it’s on to Virgin Killer, track by track, with a tight rhythm section and guitars that stretch the melodic lines without losing momentum. Roth’s signature is unmistakable: expressive vibrato, a strong sense of theme, and bridges between heavy, hard rock and classical influences. For fans of the Tokyo Tapes era as well as the merely curious, this performance offers a chance to hear these songs in a present light, carried by an artist who has remained true to his course.
