Info
On April 4, 2026, Wheel and Stoned Jesus will share the stage at the Patronaat in Haarlem. Wheel, formed in Helsinki in 2015, builds its prog‑metal on a compact, organic sound where rhythm is the driving force. Debut album Moving Backwards (2019) set the tone with heavy riffs, winding structures and smoldering tension. Resident Human (2021) broadened their scope, introducing more space and reflection. On Charismatic Leaders (2024), made with Daniel Bergstrand and Fredrik Thordendal, the band sounds heavier and more direct, with lyrics that dissect the hold of contemporary figures of power. Live, Wheel emphasizes precision, focus and dynamics, honed through tours with, among others, Leprous, Vola and Soen.
Stoned Jesus, from Kyiv and centered around guitarist‑vocalist Igor Sydorenko, has blended stoner and doom with psych, prog and a ragged edge of grunge since 2009. The group reached a wide audience with First Communion and Seven Thunders Roar, carried by the extended trip I’m the Mountain, and later sharpened its palette on The Harvest and Pilgrims. After hundreds of shows and sharing stages with Rammstein, Gojira and Black Sabbath, as well as a tour as opener for Deep Purple, Stoned Jesus continues to explore new directions. Father Light captures that hunger with influences from Swans to Deftones: heavy grooves, hypnotic arcs of tension and songs that calmly unfurl before striking again.
