Phantogram

Phantogram will play on 19 June 2026 at Melkweg in Amsterdam. The duo from Greenwich, NY, Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter, blends electronics, indie rock and trip hop into a set that leans on pulsing hip‑hop rhythms, grainy guitars and synth layers that leave room for contrast. Live it’s largely about interplay: Sarah’s clear vocals and keys against Josh’s guitar, beats and samplers, with patterns that are looped and pulled apart to build tension. Expect a cross‑section of their trajectory — from Eyelid Movies through Voices and Three to Ceremony — where melodic hooks alternate with darker textures. Tracks can start small and nocturnal and grow into something more robust, without abandoning pop structure. Their work with Big Grams alongside Big Boi is audible in the percussive accents and basslines, while the indie sensibility remains intact.
