Dotan

Dotan will perform at Metropool in Hengelo on 4 October 2026. The Dutch-Israeli singer-songwriter has spent more than ten years developing a restrained folk-pop in which his warm, expansive voice, sparse melodies and carefully measured emotion set the frame. He broke through internationally with “Home” and the album 7 Layers; since then he has written songs that remain close to the listener, driven by vulnerability and guided by a keen sense for atmosphere.

Live, Dotan keeps things minimal: voice, harmony and a few assured arrangements—enough to establish a direct connection with the audience. That approach has taken him to stages such as Rock Werchter, Pinkpop, Sziget, Pukkelpop and the Montreux Jazz Festival, and it works just as well in an intimate setting.

Following Last Goodbyes, his fifth album marks a move toward a contemporary, rawer-sounding folk: clear, tightly crafted songs without frills, where the tension lies in the breath between the notes. Expect a set that mixes familiar songs with new material, leaving room for silence and communal singing.
