Frank Boeijen

On 14 August 2026 Frank Boeijen will perform at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The singer-songwriter from Nijmegen has been creating Dutch-language songs since the late 1970s at the intersection of pop, chanson and light rock. His soft voice and piano playing often form the starting point, with lyrics that tell stories in clear Dutch about memory, relationships and social tensions. After his breakthrough with the Frank Boeijen Group in the 1980s, he has steadily continued as a solo artist since the early 1990s, with a series of albums and tours; records such as Wildernis, Heden, Genade and Land van Belofte mark different phases in that trajectory.

At Caprera Boeijen draws on decades of repertoire. Restrained performances sit alongside recent work, always with a focus on text and melody. The arrangements remain supportive and leave room for silence and detail, with the piano and his voice as a compass. Without a hunt for effects or grand gestures, but with a clear story and a recognisable signature, he allows his songs the time to land. This concert places the Dutch-language storytelling at its centre: intimate, careful and direct.
