Goose

Goose comes to Melkweg in Amsterdam on 28 May 2026. The band from Norwalk, Connecticut has moved since the mid-2010s between indie, jam and psychedelic pop, with an approach in which tight songs and extended improvisations can coexist. Around singer‑guitarist Rick Mitarotonda, Goose builds layered grooves, bright guitar lines and warm keyboard parts, with Peter Anspach (keys, guitar, vocals), Trevor Weekz (bass) and Cotter Ellis (drums) serving as the driving force of a rhythm section that likes to take its time.

You can hear that balance in the studio: Moon Cabin set the tone, Shenanigans Nite Club and Dripfield sharpened the sound with melodic hooks and expansive instrumental passages. With Everything Must Go and Chain Yer Dragon, Goose explores greater contrasts, from 1970s rock hues to pieces clearly designed to open up live. On stage it’s about buildup, dynamics and collective playing, with songs that can turn out slightly different each night.
