Leif De Leeuw Band

Leif de Leeuw Band will perform on 17 September 2026 at Patronaat, Haarlem. Around guitarist Leif de Leeuw the group has charted its own course in the Dutch rock scene: bluesrock and southern rock with ample room for improvisation. Live, the song structures serve as starting points for extended instrumental passages; riffs with a 1970s flavor, slide guitar rooted in the American blues, and a rhythm section that leans on funk and groove. Vocal lines and two-part guitars maintain the tension, with themes unfolding and then reconverging.

The lineup is a full-fledged band with a fixed core, sometimes supplemented by guests from the Dutch blues and rock circuit. Between tours, live recordings and studio work a set has grown that shifts between country-tinged ballads, instrumental pieces and more direct tracks that land most sharply on stage. In Haarlem you will hear that open, jam-like approach up close: songs as the point of departure, the moment as the guiding direction.
