On 25 April 2026, Clean Pete will perform “Geheimen” at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. Clean Pete is the twin duo of Loes and Renée Wijnhoven from Nijmegen. They write and sing in Dutch, somewhere between intimate pop, folk and chanson. Their songs touch on everyday scenes, relationships and small city stories. Not grand gestures, but direct lyrics and melodies that rely on vocal harmony, guitar and cello.
In “Geheimen” they present that signature up close: two voices that intertwine, spare arrangements, room for the text and the rhythm of the language. Chamber-music-like pop without frills, with harmonies that carry the story rather than ornament it. In this way Clean Pete builds a recognizable world, with short observations, gentle irony and precisely chosen words. On stage Loes and Renée seek intimacy: close, clear and without detour. For those who appreciate Dutch-language songs that speak rather than shout.
