Chicago outfit Case Oats brings its lean Americana and alternative country to Drake Underground in Toronto on May 19, 2026. Centered around songwriter and vocalist Casey Walker with Max Subar on guitar, Jason Ashworth on bass, Scott Daniel on fiddle and Spencer Tweedy on drums, the band builds narrative songs with clear vocals, tight interplay and arrangements that keep the rhythm section in service of the melody.

On stage, Case Oats blends a classic rock backbone with fiddle lines that carry a folk tint, giving the music a warm grain without weighing it down. The group came up in small Chicago rooms before branching out across independent circuits in the U.S., shaping a sound that favors space, dynamics and detail over excess. The set draws from their debut album Last Missouri Exit, released in 2025, along with the single Bitter Root Lake, anchoring their approach in concise songwriting and understated textures.
