D'jal

D’jal returns to the stage on April 20, 2026 at Les Allos: Théâtre de Cluses, in Cluses, with a new show that pushes his stand-up toward character-driven theatre. A French comedian of Moroccan origin, he blends family culture and everyday life in France to sketch a gallery of distinctly drawn characters, confidently embraced accents and a very physical performance. He likes to tell stories that unfold slowly, to play out group situations and to rely on improvisation with the audience. The show moves from an office to a kitchen, from a neighborhood commute to a family gathering, with juxtapositions that cross the worlds of work, immigration and family relationships. D’jal also plays with bilingualism and expressions borrowed from several languages, which feeds a humor that is both narrative and visual. Pace, changes of voice and sudden shifts in tone follow one another, producing an evening where observation of the real slips into fiction without warning, in a constant back-and-forth between stand-up and theatrical performance.
