Fabulous Thunderbirds Livestream from Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club

Info

Livestreamed from Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club in Portsmouth on February 22, 2026, The Fabulous Thunderbirds bring five decades of electric blues and blues rock led by founding singer and harmonica player Kim Wilson, with Johnny Moeller, Bob Welsh, Rudy Albin and Steve Kirsty on deck. Formed in 1974 and known for albums like T-Bird Rhythm and the breakout Tuff Enuff, the band marks its 50th year with Struck Down, their first studio album in eight years. Co-written by Wilson and Hamilton bluesman Steve Strongman, produced by Wilson, Strongman and Glen Parrish, and mixed by Shelly Yakus, it gathers nine originals plus a take on Memphis Minnie’s Nothing in Rambling, with guest turns from Billy Gibbons, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Keb’ Mo’, Mick Fleetwood, Terrance Simien and Elvin Bishop. On stage, the Thunderbirds thread Texas shuffle, Chicago edges and lean riffs, folding fresh material into long-running staples like Tuff Enuff and Wrap It Up. With seven Grammy nominations and more than twenty Blues Music Award nods, the current lineup keeps the focus on Wilson’s voice and harmonica lines, guitar interplay and a groove built for a live room—even through the screen.
