Info
On April 10, 2026 at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, The Goo Goo Dolls roll out a catalogue shaped by alt-rock roots and pop-leaning songwriting. Formed in Buffalo in 1986 by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, the band moved from punky college rock to melodic guitar songs and acoustic ballads. The set draws a line from early material to the breakthrough era of Name and Iris, where radio-ready hooks meet rougher edges from Superstar Car Wash and Dizzy Up the Girl into the 2000s. Recent releases like Magnetic, Miracle Pill and Chaos in Bloom keep the pace, mixing electric drive with stripped-back moments.
Dashboard Confessional joins the bill with Chris Carrabba’s emo-rooted writing, shifting between intimate acoustic confession and full-band energy. Launched around 2000 with The Swiss Army Romance and The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, the project built on narrative lyrics and sing-along choruses, then widened its scope with Dusk and Summer and Alter the Ending. The more recent All the Truth That I Can Tell circles back to that direct voice-and-guitar core while leaving room for sharper electric textures.
