The Casualties with The Drowns

The Casualties bring their New York street punk to Dickens in Calgary, AB on Tuesday April 21, 2026, with The Drowns as special guests.

Formed in 1990, The Casualties came up through the NYC scene with a sound forged from early-80s UK punk and hardcore: fast tempos, gang-style chants and a rough, street-level edge. Their lyrics lean into social precarity, urban violence and political tension, carried across a long discography and steady touring in the Americas, Europe and Japan. Early cornerstones For the Punx and Underground Army set the pace, followed by Stay Out of Order, Die Hards and On the Front Line, which also appeared in Spanish as En La Línea del Frente. The run continued with Under Attack, We Are All We Have, Resistance and Chaos Sound. In 2017, David Rodriguez took over the mic from founding singer Jorge Herrera, leading to the 2018 album Written in Blood and a lineup that keeps the band’s direct approach intact.

The Drowns join as special guests, rounding out a bill focused on straight-ahead, high-tempo punk.
