Skerryvore - Beacon of Scot Rock - 20th Anniversary

On 2 May 2026 Skerryvore will celebrate their 20th anniversary with the Beacon of Scot Rock tour at the Pumpwerk Cultural Centre in Wilhelmshaven. The band from the Inner Hebrides formed in the early 2000s around brothers Daniel and Martin Gillespie—initially as an island dance band, later based in Glasgow and steadily expanding their touring presence. At the centre of their sound are bagpipes, accordion and fiddle, underpinned by electric guitar, bass and drums: Highland tradition meets contemporary folk and melodic rock.

For the anniversary, Skerryvore trace a span of two decades: from early instrumental sets dominated by reels and jigs to song formats they developed on albums such as Skerryvore, World of Chances and Chasing the Sun. More recent material from Evo and Tempus brings pop, country and Americana colours into the set, without losing sight of their Scottish DNA. Live, powerful medleys, danceable grooves and catchy choruses alternate—a concise narrative of their development from West Coast Life to the present.
