OMD's Summer of Hits

OMD – Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark – will bring their “Summer of Hits” to the Seebühne Bremen on 15 August 2026. OMD is driven by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, a duo from the Wirral near Liverpool who found their sound in the late 1970s between post‑punk and European electronics. Their songs combine direct melodies and classic pop structures with cooler, darker synth textures. Live, the group performs with an expanded line‑up, making its evolution audible. The set touches on the early albums Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Organisation and moves through Architecture & Morality to the more experimental phases of Dazzle Ships and Junk Culture. Later, the more accessible, danceable electronics of Crush and The Pacific Age come to the fore. Since returning to the stage in 2006, OMD have continued to extend their catalogue with History of Modern, English Electric, The Punishment of Luxury and, most recently, Bauhaus Staircase — these chapters also feature in the show. Expect a compact succession of distinctive synth‑pop tracks, enriched with balladic moments and subtle industrial hints. An evening that distils the band’s history and shows how OMD continue to rethink their codes today — in Bremen.
