Marly Jazz Festival - Hommage à Jeff Buckley. Antonio Lizana 5tet

On 22 May 2026 at the NEC in Marly, the Marly Jazz Festival presents a tribute to Jeff Buckley alongside the Antonio Lizana quintet. The Jeff Buckley tribute revisits the repertoire of the singer-songwriter and guitarist, positioned between rock and folk, in arrangements conceived for the stage.

A saxophonist, vocalist and composer, Antonio Lizana grounds his writing in San Fernando, near Cádiz, and naturally bridges flamenco and jazz. With his quintet he blends cante (flamenco singing) and Andalusian palos (flamenco styles) with contemporary harmonies, alternating saxophone, vocals and spoken passages, and constructing a musical narrative in which Andalusian tradition and the language of jazz constantly interact. From De viento (2012) to Una realidad diferente (2020), his trajectory has opened onto Mediterranean and Latin influences. On stage the quintet articulates grooves and compás (flamenco rhythmic cycles), with a precise rhythm section supporting clear melodic lines and spaces for improvisation.
