Sam Sauvage

On 23 October 2026 at l’Atabal in Biarritz, Sam Sauvage presents his clean-lined alternative pop. A self-taught singer-songwriter from the North, he blends 1980s rock and new wave with direct songwriting, imbued with a very contemporary poetic sensibility. In the background one can detect lineages: Bashung’s shadow for the imagery and tension, the rhythmic elasticity of Talking Heads, and a storytelling instinct akin to Stromae. Yet the stamp remains his own: an inhabited voice and a production texture that marries retro and present without heavy nostalgia. On stage, his songs gain depth, carried by angular guitars, dry pulses, and breaks and breaths that bring the lyrics back to the body, skirting the line between rock and minimalist theatre. Backed by a self-titled debut EP released on Cinq 7 and with an album announced for 2026, Sam Sauvage unfolds a repertoire where melancholy meets raw energy, precise groove and compelling contours. At l’Atabal he delivers the most fully realized incarnation of it.
