Info
The Black Angels bring their Passover 2026 Tour to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on May 24, 2026. Formed in Austin in 2004, the band digs into a dark, repetitive strain of psych rock fed by garage grit and 60s echoes. Centered around Alex Maas and Christian Bland, their sound works texture and pulse: saturated guitars, hazy keyboards, and heavy, insistent rhythms. From Passover and Directions to See a Ghost to Phosphene Dream and Wilderness of Mirrors, their tracks circle themes of war, political paranoia and contemporary drift. Close to the Austin psych scene, they helped launch the Levitation festival and have backed Roky Erickson on stage.
L.A. Witch opens with a reverb-soaked garage sound from Los Angeles. The trio of Sade Sanchez, Irita Pai and Ellie English builds songs on minimal riffs, a drawling voice and a steady rhythmic tension, somewhere between psych sway, slow-burn punk and a hint of surf. Their self-titled debut (2017) and Play With Fire (2020) shaped that approach, followed by the Octubre EP in 2021. Live, they stretch repetition and mood with a direct, no-frills energy.
