Cancer Bats celebrate 20 years of Birthing the Giant at The Pearl in Vancouver, BC on Friday, April 17, 2026. Formed on Toronto’s hardcore scene in 2004, the band mixes hardcore punk, metal, sludge and a touch of southern rock: thick riffs, fast tempos and a raw, chanted vocal style. This anniversary set focuses on their 2006 debut and ranges across the catalogue, from Hail Destroyer to Dead Set on Living, The Spark That Moves and Psychic Jailbreak.
Special guests open. Anciients, from Vancouver, shape a progressive metal sound that shifts between doom‑weighted grooves and melodic turns, heard on Heart of Oak and Voice of the Void. Teeth push a sharper, metallic hardcore angle. A straightforward night of heavy guitars with Cancer Bats revisiting the record that kicked things off, at The Pearl.
