Lexa Gates: I Am Tour

Lexa Gates brings the I Am Tour to The Mod Club, 722 College Street, Toronto, on April 16, 2026. Born Ivanna Alexandra Martinez in New York in 2001, the rapper and producer grew up between Puerto Rico and Queens, picking up piano at home and taking voice lessons before leaving school at 15. She started releasing her own music at 17 and has kept a steady rhythm since: Order of Events (2020), Delirium and Hungry (2021), Universe Wrapped in Flesh (2022), Elite Vessel (2024) and I Am (2026).

Her work sits in today’s hip-hop and rap, where she writes, raps and builds her sound with a hands-on approach. Around her records, Gates has explored performance formats that mirror her studio ideas — a ten-hour glass box in Union Square for Elite Vessel, and an immersive human hamster wheel at New York’s Jeffrey Deitch around I Am. On this tour, she threads the new tracks with earlier cuts, drawing a clear line from her DIY beginnings to a sharper, more focused present at The Mod Club.
