Ninjacat Productions marks 20 years of Manitoba Metalfest with a two-night run at The Park Theatre, 698 Osborne Street, Winnipeg, on Friday May 8 and Saturday May 9, 2026. A two-day pass secures the full ride with a lineup mixing veterans and rising names.
Friday leans hard into grit and groove. Cancer Bats revisit their debut with a Birthing the Giant 20-year set, ramening their crossover of hardcore bite, sludge weight and punk drive. Beside them, New Orleans mainstays Crowbar bring slow-burning riffs and Kirk Windstein’s gravelly presence, an anchor of the NOLA sludge sound. The night rounds out with Art of Attrition, Misyrion, Skullnectar and Low Fuel.
Saturday flips the script toward murk and speed. Gatecreeper leads with a direct, pit-ready take on death metal, while Spectral Wound channels a raw, melodic strain of black metal. Prowl, Maul, Nachtlich, Sabbatory and Nocturnal Departure push things further into the darker corners. Two dates, one venue, and a panorama of heavy across the spectrum at The Park Theatre in Winnipeg.
