Thursday, 3 December 2026, Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne brings together three faces of metal with Eluveitie, Pain and Wolfheart. An evening that navigates between Celtic folk, abrasive industrial and melodic death, carried by bands well established on the European scene.
Eluveitie, formed around Chrigel Glanzmann, blends melodic death with traditional instruments. Violin, flutes, bagpipes and hurdy-gurdy interlock with guitars and vocals alternating between clean singing and growls. The lyrics, in English and in reconstructed Gaulish, evoke history and mythology, producing a sound that is both organic and cutting.
With Pain, Peter Tägtgren delivers industrial metal with electronic touches. Massive riffs, programmed rhythms and clear choruses intersect in a direct, efficient format—conceived in the studio by Tägtgren and reinforced on stage by a well-honed band.
Fronted by Tuomas Saukkonen, Wolfheart offers a dark melodic death sound, tinged with doom and black. Melodic guitars, rasping vocals and slower tempos build cold atmospheres inspired by the Nordic landscape and martial themes.
