Info
On 21 March 2026, Ange takes the stage at La Grande Ourse in Saint-Agathon. Formed in late 1969 in Franche-Comté around the Décamps brothers, the group was born from the merger of the dance orchestra Les Anges and the combo Évolution. From the outset, Ange carved out a distinctive path: French-language progressive rock steeped in medieval and fantastical imagery, finely crafted lyrics, dark or dreamlike atmospheres and a strong theatrical dimension. The 1970s laid down key milestones with Caricatures, Le Cimetière des arlequins, Au-delà du délire and Émile Jacotey, while the live stage remained a central playground.
Revived in the late 1990s around Christian Décamps, joined by his son Tristan on keyboards and vocals and by musicians such as guitarist Hassan Hajdi, Ange has maintained a steady recording output: La Voiture à eau, Souffleurs de vers, Moyen Âge, Émile Jacotey Résurrection, Heureux!. In Saint-Agathon, that blend of storytelling, spoken-sung vocals, keyboards and guitars can be found, with a repertoire drawing as much on the classics as on recent material.
