Daran

Daran returns to Le Ferrailleur in Nantes on June 11, 2026. A figure of French rock, he first made his name as the singer-guitarist of Daran et les Chaises before continuing on as a solo artist. The author of ten studio albums and one live record, he blends chanson and electric rock with songwriting that places the lyrics front and center. In 1995, Huit barré brought him to the wider public’s attention with “Dormir dehors.”

Curious and open-minded, he has collaborated with Miossec, Yarol Poupaud, Johnny Hallyday, Francis Cabrel, Maurane and Jane Birkin. Based between France and Montreal, he announced his eleventh album, Grand Hôtel Apocalypse, in 2025—written, produced and recorded across Montreal, Brittany, Mexico and California.

On stage, Daran returns to incisive rock, tightened around a bass, a guitar and drums. No effects pedals: the instruments are plugged directly into the amps for a direct sound. Eleven songs about freedom, lost loves and the search for oneself, with the human being at the center. A simple, effective format conceived for the stage.
